

1. The Club shall be known as the GoldWing Owners’ Club of Ireland Limited, abbreviated to GWOCI Ltd., herein referred to as “the Club”.
2. The Club is a non-profit making organisation.
3. The aims of the Club are to encourage contact and friendship between GoldWing owners in Ireland and abroad, to promote the image of motorcycling as a safe and enjoyable activity, and to assist each other in any way.
4. Membership application is open to all GoldWing owners/riders and their partners, subject to the Club rules.
a. All members as per 1994 membership year have full membership with voting rights within the Club and retain these rights with valid renewals. The completion of valid renewal forms will be strictly enforced by the Membership Secretary, with the support of the Committee.
b. As and from 1995 the following will apply:
i Full membership is open to all GoldWing owners/riders and their partners who reside in the Republic of Ireland or are holders of Irish Citizenship.
ii Associate Membership is open to all GoldWing owners/riders and their partners who reside outside the Republic of Ireland. These associate members are entitled to a GWEF card. Non-GoldWing owners are
not entitled to a GWEF card. Associate members do not have voting rights but may participate in all Club events.iii Friends of members may apply for associate membership
c. The Committee reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership.
5. An annual membership subscription is payable except in the case of honorary or life membership. The subscription is agreed by the Committee. If renewal is not paid by the due date, membership will lapse until such time as payment is received.
6. a. The Annual General Meeting will take place on a date agreed by the Committee.
b. Notice will be given to all members prior to the AGM/EGM.
c. An EGM may be called by the Committee, as deemed necessary.
d. Upon written request of at least 25% of full members, an EGM must be called.
e. To validate a change in the Club constitution, a ⅔ majority of full members present is necessary.
f. Each full member is entitled to one vote at the AGM/EGM, per issue.
g. The Chairperson shall have the casting vote.
7. a. The Committee of this Club shall be elected at the AGM.
b. The Committee shall consist of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, International Representative and Officers as deemed necessary.
c. Nominations for Committee positions will be taken from the floor during General Meetings.
d. Any nominee running for a Committee position must be a full member.
e. Where there is more than one nominee for a Committee position, voting will be by secret ballot.
f. Individual persons may be co-opted by the Chairperson or Committee to help and/or advise the Committee on specific matters.
g. At least ⅔ of the Committee shall constitute a quorum at any meeting.
h. The Chairperson will call Committee meetings as he/she deems necessary or at the request of a majority of Committee members.
8. The Club is affiliated to the GoldWing European Federation (GWEF). Through this Federation, we extend a “Céad Míle Fáilte” and help to all GoldWing Owners from other countries.
9. The International Representative will represent the Club at the GWEF meetings. If our IR cannot attend a meeting and another Club member will be present at the event, they may, with prior agreement, represent the Club.
10. An Irish International Treffen will be held annually, date to be agreed with GWEF and venue to be decided by the Committee.
11. No individual shall in any way claim to speak for or to represent the Club, its Committee or its Officers unless formally so authorised by the Chairperson or by the Committee. Any liability arising from any unauthorised representation shall be the sole responsibility of the individual(s) concerned.
a. In relation to motorbike events, e.g. Bike rallies, where a check-in is necessary, it is permissible to sign in as a GWOCI member. The member will be responsible for any actions that may bring the Club into disrepute and may be reprimanded accordingly.
12. The Committee is the sole authority for the interpretation of these rules. The decision of the Committee upon any matter affecting the Club and not provided for in these rules shall be final and binding on all members.
